Make-over for Bristol landmark

The former home of ITV West Studios on the Bath Road, Bristol is undergoing an extensive refurbishment and upgrade, courtesy of its new owners Cube Real Estate.

Although part of the accommodation is still occupied by ITV, Cube will ensure that by refurbishing the office space and reception, it will attract new tenants to the building which has been rebranded as "Bath Road Studios".

The refurbishment, designed by award winning architects Stiff + Trevillion and due for completion early in 2012, will cost in excess of £1million and will include the trebling of the size of the reception, creation of a new café lounge and upgrading of 30,000 sq ft of office space to provide a fresh, funky style aimed at media and creative occupiers. Work has started on site with new tenants able to take occupation in the New Year.

Bath Road has undergone a revival in recent years driven by the success of The Paintworks redevelopment. Cube hopes to emulate this success with Bath Road Studios in what is fast becoming Bristol's new creative quarter.

Jonathan Lawes, director at Cube Real Estate commented: "Given our ability to accommodate requirements from as little as 300 sq ft, we are very confident Bath Road Studios will provide the vibrant working environment so sought after by creative industries. The opportunity to interact with like minded individuals is already drawing strong interest from this sector".

Knight Frank and Jones Lang LaSalle have been retained as joint letting agents on the scheme.
